Abstract
The purpose of study was to describe the improvement of student learning outcomes learning social sciences using countextual teaching and learning class III public alementary school 5 Sungai Raya. This study uses descriptive method with the form of classroom action research, and is collaborative.The place this research took place class III public alementary school 5 Sungai Raya, with research subjects of social science teachers and grade III students totaling 11 people. Data collection techniques direct observation techniquesand document inspection techniqueswith a data collection tool using assessment ability teachers to plan learning, assessment of teacher"™s ability carry out learning, and learning evaluation of learning outcomes. This study was conducted 3 cycles with result (1) average ability of the teacher to plan learning, namely the following cycle namely I 3,03, in the cycle II 3,36, in the cycle III 3,72. (2) the average teacher"™s ability to carry out learning as follows in cycle I, 3,01, in the cycle II 3,44, in cycle III 3,84. (3) the average student learning outcomes are follows in cycle 1 that is 57, cycle II 72 and cycle III 85,45. From data obtained, can be concluded that contextual teaching and learning approachmprove learning outcomes.
