Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of using discovery learning model with probing prompting technic on student"™s achievement in direct current circuit subject at SMAN 3 Ketapang. The method of this research is quasi experimental design with plan nonequivalent control group design. Sample on this study is class XII MIA1 as experiment class and class XII MIA2 as control class. The research instruments is 9 item of multiple choices. Based on U-mann whitney analysis result with significant level α = 5% shows that there are differences of final ability result between students who useddiscovery learning model with probing prompting technic and student who used learning method that"™s usually done by the subject teachers. The gain value in class that usediscovery learning model with probing prompting technic is 0.50 with medium category.   The effect sixe of using discovery learning model with probing prompting technic is 1.59 with high category, that means use of discovery learning model with probing prompting technic effective in increasing student"™s achievement in direct current circuit subject.
