Abstract
This research aims to know the description of the interest of students choose a major of accounting and marketingclass Xon SMKN 3 Pontianak. The research method used is quantitativedescriptive method. Sample technique used is the purposive sampling. The sample is part of the number and characteristic possessed by the population, the sample in this research amounted to 65 people. Data collecting techniques used consist of: the techniques of direct communication, the techniques of indirect communication and documentary studies. The data collecting tool used the interview guide, questionnaires, and record sheets. The data obtained from the answer sheet is a closed multiple choice questionnaire. The analyze data used statistic. Techniques and data analysis that used the U test (Mann-Whitney Test) with an error rate of 5%. The results of the descriptive data states that the interest of the students in the accounting department for (74,3%) that the high category and the interest of the students at the department of marketing for (82,5%) that the category of very high. According the result of research with significance of counting by 0,000 Ë‚ 0,05, these result prove that there are differences in the interest of the students choose a major in accounting and marketing for students of class X SMKN 3 Pontianak.
