Abstract

Abstract

This research was to find out the effect of flash flipbook on the learning outcomes of class VIII students on plant motion material in Junior High School 11, Pontianak. The form of this research was a quasi-experimental with nonequivalent control group design. The sampling technique was used intact group technique with samples of VIII E the experimental class and VIII F the control class. Based on the results of the validated of flash flipbook by material experts obtained an average of 3.24 (valid) and the results validated by media experts obtained an average of 3.48 (valid). Scores of student learning outcomes taught using flash flipbook is 16.50 higher than the score of student learning outcomes taught using powerpoint that is equal to 14.68. Then tested using U Mann Whitney test at a significant level of 5% and it is known that Zcount< Ztable (-2.77 <-1.96) which means that there is a difference between student learning outcomes of experimental class and control class. Based on the effect size calculation, the value showed 0.71 (high criterion) and when viewed by standard normal curve showed that the using of flash flipbook has an effect of 26.11% on student learning outcomes.
