Abstract
This study aimed to determine the analysis of characters and characterizations in the novel Dilan Dia Adalah Dilanku Tahun 1990 by Pidi Baiq. The problems of this research are: (1) the role of the character in the novel Dilan Dia adalah Dilanku Tahun 1990 by Pidi Baiq, (2) characterization of the main character In the novel novel Dilan Dia adalah Dilanku Tahun 1990 by Pidi Baiq,(3) plan for implementing this research in learning Indonesian in high school. The purpose of this research is to describe the the characters and characterizations in the novel Dilan Dia Adalah Dilanku Tahun 1990 by Pidi Baiq. This study used a description method with qualitative research forms. Data from this study are sentences show the characters and characterizations. The technique used this study documentary and data collection tool is the researcher himself as a key instrument. Based on the results of the analysis there is one main character in the novel Dilan Dia Adalah Dilanku Tahun 1990 by Pidi Baiq and two ways the author describes the character namely analytic techniques and dramatic techniques.
