Abstract
Improvement in learning outcomes for simple fraction counting operations with a problem solving approach in elementary schools. This research is Clasroom Action Research (RAC) by using descriptive methods. The form of research used is collaborative research, the teacher cooperates with colleagues (the head master) to observed and analyzed the data needed in this research as teacher ability data, data on students ability to do problem solving steps in fraction counting operations, and data on student outcomes. The conclusion of the results of this research is by using a problem solving approach, it can improve the ability of the teacher with a score 2,97 in cycle 1 meeting 1increased to 3,63 in meeting 2 and in cycle 1 meeting 2 from 2.80 to 3,50 in cycle 2 meeting 2. In average learning outcomes also increased from cycle 1 meeting 1 to cycle 2 meeting 1 the average result from 69,47 becomes 83,50, and cycle 1 meeting 2 the average result 69,73 increased to 85,00 in cycle 2 meeting 2.
