PERISTILAHAN TRADISI RITUAL BEUME PADA MASYARAKAT MELAYU SAMBAS

Abstract

The common problem of this study was  the distinction of  the  Beume  Ritual tradition in  Sambas  Malay society. The reason for  conducting  this study was because some  Sambas  Malay society still hold the tradition associated with ritual activity  traditionally. The problems in this  study were: (1) the form of terminology in  Beume  ritual tradition, (2) the meaning of terminology of  Beume  ritual tradition, (3) form of supplement of text material about  Beume  ritual tradition. The purpose of this study was to solve the problem of terminology  form  and terminology  meaning, as well as the  form  of supplement of text material. This study used descriptive method, qualitative research form, with ethnolinguistic approach. The source of the Malay language data  Sambas  dialect. Technique of data collecting used was interview technique, note technique, and  recording  technique. Data collection tools include recording tools, questionnaires, lists, notes, and stationery. Based on data analysis result there were 123  Beume  ritual tradition data, form  monomorphic  56 data, polymorphic 26 data, and the phrasehas 41 data. The lexical meaning contained 86 data and the cultural meaning of 37 data and the texts produced in this study are the descriptive text and the procedure  text  of  year-7 students or  equal.
