Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to determine the Higher Order Thinking Skills of students in social studies class XI IPS 2 SMA Mujahidin Pontianak. The research method used is descriptive method with qualitative approaches and forms of survey research. Sources of data in this study are primary data sources and secondary data sources. Primary data sources in this study were 35 students of class XI IPS 2 high school and secondary data sources were economics teacher and vice principal of curriculum. Data were collected using interview instruments and observation sheets, with the steps of the stages of reduction, presentation of data, and drawing conclusions and verification as well as using data validity checking techniques namely triangulation techniques. The results show that students' Higher Order Thinking Skills that can be achieved well are active activities in thinking, formulating problems, studying complex problems, divergent thinking and developing ideas, seeking information from various sources. While the activities of students in analytic thinking, evaluative, and making decisions are still unable to be achieved well by students.
