Abstract

This study aims to improve students' reading comprehension skills by using survey question read recite review (SQ3R) techniques for VA class at 30 Pontianak Elementary School in South Pontianak. The method used in this research is descriptive method in the form of classroom action research and collaborative research. The research subjects were teachers and students consisting of 24 people. This research was conducted during III cycles with each cycle one meeting. This results from the ability of teachers to plan learning from the first cycle is 3.95, the second cycle is 4.19, the third cycle is 4.42. The results of the teacher's ability to carry out research learning from the implementation of learning from the first cycle were 3.70, the second cycle was 4.23, the third cycle was 4.79. The essay reading comprehension from the first cycle was 67.82, second cycle was 72.60, third cycle was 74.78. So, use can improve students' reading comprehension skills.
