Abstract

The title of this thesis is "an Analysis on the Use of Media in Learning Sociology Subject on XI IPS of MAS Al-Jihad Pontianak". The general problem of this research is how the use of media in learning sociology subject on XI IPS of MAS Al-Jihad Pontianak. The main problem and the aim of this research is to know the use of media for learning objectives, learning materials, students"™ characteristic, and technical quality of the media. Techniques used in data collection are observation, interview, and documentation. Tools used in data collection are observation guide, interview sheet, and documentation. Techniques of data analysis are data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. Subject of the research are Sociology teacher and six students of XI IPS. The result of the research shows that the use of media already appropriate with learning objectives, learning materials, characteristics of students and the technical quality of the media but for the technical quality of the media has not been achieved fully.
