            Abstract

The Implementation of learning often makes students less interested in lesson, students have difficulty in understanding and practicing the lesson of Basketball chest pass, and students still have low ability in doing basketball chest pass. The purpose of this study is to improve learning outcomes basketball chest pas through playing approach at SMKN 5 Pontianak. The method of this study is classroom action research and the subject of this research is X Busana students of SMKN 5 Pontianak with 36 students. The result on the first cycle is 33,3% obtained by 12 students with succeed category or having score above the KKM. While the rest students get 66.6% or 24 students still having score below the KKM. On the second cycle is 96.6% with 29 students with succeed category or having score above the KKM, while the rest is 19.4% with 7 students having score below the KKM or cannot achieve the KKM. That is the result of learning basketball chest pass through playing approach on X Busana students of SMKN 5 Pontianak
