Abstract

Abstract

The purpose of this research to find out the social control of the teacher to discipline students of class XI IIS senior high school of Islamiyah Pontianak. This research used a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Sources of research data are teachers, homeroom teachers, and students of class XI IIS senior high school of Islamiyah Pontianak. Research results show that (1) Preventive social control done by the teacher in discipline students of class XI IIS can be said to be good because the teachers controls students by advising and rewarding students in the form of praise and additional value. (2) Coercive social control conducted by the teacher in discipline students of class XI IIS can be said to be good because the teachers sanctions assignments and reproach such as asking students to pick up trash and read tadarus. While reproach such as students who sleep in class and reproach students who use handphone while studying. (3) Repressive social control by the teacher in discipline students of class XI IIS can be said to be good because the teachers still advises students not to repeat mistakes. While the psychological sanctions are making statements, making summons for parents, and students use paper signs "I"™m late" and are turned away by the neck.
