Abstract

Abstract

The aim of this research was to determine the effectiveness of experiment learning method aided by video feedback to remediate students"™ misconception about refraction in SMA Negeri 8 Pontianak. This research used non-equivalent control group design. The population was all 11th grade students of SMA Negeri 8 Pontianak. The samples are selected using intact group technique which XI MIPA 3 was chosen as experimental group and XI MIPA 4 as control group. From 10 concepts of refraction, the students had misconception in all the concepts. Based on U Mann-Whitney test with p = 0.000, α = 0.05, the distribution of changes in the number of misconceptions is different between control group and experimental group. Mc Nemar test with α = 0.05 shows that there was a significant change of the students"™ conception in 6 concepts of refraction while show no significant change in the rest of 4 concepts. Cohen"™s effect size value is 1.29 which are categorized as high. In conclusion, the experiment learning method aided by video feedback is effective to remediate students"™ misconception about refraction.
