Abstract
Fractional material is actually related to daily (contextual) student life. However, if the potential number sense of students in a fractional summation is empowered by the teacher is expected to minimize the students ' barriers in learning fractional summing. The students ' potential number sense of fractional summing is seen to be important to develop in mathematical learning. Educators have to dig in and can improve students ' number sense skills. A person with a good number of sense and has creativity will be able to solve the problem properly and efficiently too. From the test results that have a number meaning only 16 out of 20 students, and which has a number meaning and number operations at once only 11 out of 20 students, and 4 students who do not have the number sense aspect at all. Potential number meaning can bring out the aspect of creativity is the smoothness of 11 students, the flexibility of 2 students and for authenticity can not arise from the potential number meaning.
