Abstract

This research aimed to know the ability to solve contextual problem of quadrilateral material based on students self efficacy at SMP Negeri 2 Noyan. The form of research used was qualitative desciptive. In this research the subject person was used, namely grade VIII B SMP Negeri 2 Noyan which is determined using the result of the attitude scale calculation. The data collection tool used was self efficacy attitude scale consisting of 31 statement items, the essay test questions consisting of 3 contextual questions, and unstructured interviews. The result of data analysis showed that students with high self efficacy had high problem solving ability and high self confidence, students with moderate self efficacy had the ability to solve contextual problems that are classified as moderate and have low self confidence, as well as students with low self efficacy have low problem solving ability and have low self confidence. This research was expected to be an alternative in determining the ability to solve contextual problems based on the different self efficacy of students.
