Abstract

Abstract

This research aimed to describe students' Mathematical Literacy, High order Thinking Ability, and the correlation between Mathematical Literacy and High order Thinking Ability. This research used a quantitative approach with a correlational  research design. The population in this research was grade VIII the students in SMP Negeri 3 Pontianak and the sample was the students of class VIII I. The results showed that 19 students or 63% of the students were able to achieve level 5 mathematical literacy indicators in the Quantity content. As for the HOT ability, 11 students or 35.4% were able to achieve the HOT ability indicator at the cognitive level evaluating (C5). Furthermore, based on the results of Product Moment correlation test, were obtained a significance value of 0.013 and a Pearson correlation value of 0.442. So it can be concluded that there was a significant relationship between mathematical literacy and HOT ability, with the strength of the correlation between the two variables classified as moderate.
