Abstract

The problem in this study was whether there is a relationship between educational background and teaching experience with the mastery of pedagogical competence of sports and health teachers in public SMA/MA in Pontianak. This study aims to determine the relationship between educational background and teaching experience with the mastery of pedagogical competence of sports and health teachers in public SMA/MA in Pontianak. This research was a correlation study using an ex post facto quantitative approach. The samples of this research was 10 teachers of physical education SMA/MA in Pontianak City. The data collection techniques and tools used were questionnaires.The research data showed that there was a positive and significant relationship between educational background and teaching experience with the mastery of pedagogic competence with a multiple correlation value of 0.923, meaning it has perfect multiple correlation. The value of determination (R squere) was 0.853 or the variance of pedagogic competence mastery is 85.3%, while 14.7% was determined by other factors. Based on the research data, it can be concluded that there was a relationship between educational background and teaching experience with the mastery of pedagogical competence of SMA/MA health and physical education teachers in Pontianak.
