REMEDIASI MISKONSEPSI SISWA MENGGUNAKAN METODE EKSPERIMEN BERBANTUAN TUTOR SEBAYA PADA MATERI CERMIN SMP

Abstract

Abstract: This research aims to investigate the effectivity of experimental method of peer tutoring approach in remediating the misconception of class VIII in MTs Negeri 1 Pontianak students on mirrors’ reflection. The form of the research design is  pre-experimental design using one group pretest-postest design. The sample of the research is class IX C which consists 30 students. The result of the research shows that students’ misconception is lowering about 27%. By using the value of proportion, the result shows that the effectivity of the decreasing number of students’ misconception is medium (0.32) for each student and medium (0.369) for each concept. The result of Correlational Testing by Spearman-Rank shwos a significant correlation between the understanding toward the concept and the decreasing of students’ misconception. This research is expected to be an alternative for teachers to utilize learning media in the learning activity as well as in remediating the students.

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektifitas penggunaan metode eksperimen berbantuan pendekatan tutor sebaya dalam meremediasi miskonsepsi siswa kelas VIII MTs Negeri 1 Pontianak pada materi cermin. Bentuk desain penelitian adalah  pre-experimental design dengan one group pretest-postest design. Sampel penelitian ini adalah kelas IX C yang berjumlah 30 orang siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terjadi penurunan miskonsepsi siswa sebesar 27%. Dengan menggunakan harga proporsi, didapatkan efektifitas penurunan jumlah miskonsepsi pada tiap siswanya adalah sedang (0,32) dan pada tiap konsepnya adalah sedang (0,369). Berdasarkan hasil Uji Korelasi Spearman-Rank diperoleh r hitung (0,648) lebih besar dari r tabel (0,364) dengan sampel 30 untuk tiap siswa dan r hitung (0,912) lebih besar daripada r tabel (0,648) dengan sampel 10 untuk tiap konsep. Sehingga, terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara pemahaman konsep dan penurunan miskonsepsi siswa. Dengan penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadikan alternatif bagi guru untuk memanfaatkan media pembelajaran dalam melakukan pembelajaran maupun remediasi siswa.
