Abstract

Abstract The general problem of this research is How the Role of Teachers in Increasing Student Confidence in Sociology Learning Class X IIS SMA Negeri 1 Sungai Raya ?. The sub-problems are: How do teachers guide and motivate students to be confident in learning sociology in class X IIS 1 SMA Negeri 1 Sungai Raya ?. The research method is qualitative research with descriptive methods. The informants were the Sociology teacher and four students of class X IIS 1. The results showed that the role of the teacher as a guide and motivator has been carried out properly. This is evidenced by the teacher guiding and helping students to overcome difficulties by providing directions. As a motivator, always provide inspirational stories about people who have been successful and use the point system during the learning process.
