Abstract

Abstract The study aims to determine the effectiveness of instructional video media in geography instruction on class XIIIS students learning achievement at SMA Kemala Bhayangkari Kuburaya. The research method used was experimental with a quantitative research approach. The sample in this study were students of class XIIIS 5 and XIIIS 6. The data obtained were the posttest scores on geography learning material about the distrubution of flora and fauna in Indonesia and the world. The finding showed that the average learning achievement in the experimental group was 80.25, while the average achievement in the control group was 74.12. According to the statistical tests using the Independent Sample T-Test, the significance value is 0.000 < 0.05. Therefore, Ha is accepted. Based on the calculation using the effect size formula, the value is 0. Thus, the effectiveness of using instructional video media is significant. In conclusion, there are notable differences in using instructionsl video media in geography learning on the learning outcomes of class XIIIS SMA Kemala Bhayangkari Kuburaya.
