Abstract

Abstract This study aims to describe the students"™ ability to write fable texts in groups. Researchers use quantitative reseach methods. The population of this study were students of class VII A SMP Negeri 19 Pontianak which had 30 students. Some of the aspects translated in this study are the structure, language, and contents of the document. The text structure of the fable consists of orienttion, complication, resolutation, and code. In the aspect of structure average total score is 103 with a percentage 68,66%. The assessment of language, namely the ability of student in verbs, articles, adverbs of place and time conjunctions and direct sentences. In the linguistic aspect the total score is 94 with a percentage 78,33%. Furthemore, the study of the content of the text of the fable, it is said to be the text of the fable, it is said to be the text pf the fable if the story describes life in the animal realm, the character is an animal or animal, contaains a mandate and has a complete structure. In the content assessment the total score was 45 with a precentage of 75% categorized as good. Keywords: Ability, Fable Text, Writing
