Abstract

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe the indigenous Tradition in the Dayak Kanayatn Tribe Balala"™ in Pate Hamlet, Saham Village, Sengah Temila District of Landak Regency. The method of this research is qualitative descriptive-ethnographic approach. The data collection techniques used were interviews and documentation. Tools of data collection are interview guidelines and documentation tool. The data analysis used are data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The validity test is using data triangulation and triangulation technique. Based on the results of the research, the procession of Indigenous traditions Balala"™ consists of several stages, namely Mansorokng held on 12 April, the ceremonial opening was held on 28 May, and Bungkas Lala"™ was held on 31 May. Regulation and prohibition always adhered to the community. The younger generation considers Indigenous traditions Balala"™ is such a common thing and many of the younger generations do not want to understand the importance of Indigenous traditions Balala"™. Efforts to preserve Indigenous traditions Balala"™ represents the personal consciousness of the community as an indigenous society.
