Abstract

This study aims to examine the Headmaster management of teacher professional competence development at SMA Negeri 4 Singkawang. Data collection techniques by interview, documentation, and observation. The results of the research: (1) the preparation and dissemination of the vision and mission, planning through regular internal and external assessments, internal meetings and preparation of RKT, (2) forming a team into the school organizational structure, organizing mechanisms with the curriculum development team, optimizing documents supporting elements of leadership, (3 )utilization of program documents or manuals, activities are carried out gradually and periodically, the formation of teams and activity committees, involvement of supervisors, school principals, staff members, and teacher council representatives, implementation of teacher professional competency development is scheduled at the beginning / end of the year and at the beginning of the semester and IT utilization, (4) supervision carried out periodically and directly, with an individual or group mechanism, (5) evaluation is carried out both orally and in writing, regular meetings, with mechanisms in the form of monitoring, discussions between teachers and administrative staff, and supervision, ( 6) strengths: the principal as the main person in charge is actively involved, involving all school members, forming a team / committee by considering the abilities and (7) activities are carried out in accordance with existing programs, most of the teachers have S1 (60%) and S2 (40%), and IT-based education and character.
