Abstract

Abstract

The background of this research is to describe snare drum learning in marching band
extracurricular at SMP Negeri 1 Sungai Raya. The purpose of this research is to
describe snare drum learning in marching band extracurricular at SMP Negeri 1
Sungai Raya. This research is qualitative research. Data on this research is a result of
observation, documentation, and interview with interviewees about snare drum
learning material, snare drum learning strategy, and learning problems. Data analyzed
by qualitative. Based on data analysis, it can be concluded that the learning of snare
drum in the marching band extracurricular at SMP Negeri 1 Sungai Raya is taught by
a trainer. Teaching materials in snare drum learning are Physical warm-up, Techniques
warm-up, and practicing performance material. The snare drum learning activity starts
with preliminary activities, core activities, and closing activities. The method used is
the method of demonstration, lecture, imitation, and practice. The used media are MP3
audio, charts, videos, and marching band equipment. Suggestion for this research to be
referenced for implementing snare drum on learning on marching band extracurricular
more creative and innovative.
