Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of the Students"™ Council (OSIS) as one
means of student personality character building at SMAN 1 Sungai Raya to
foster the value of school deliberations. The method used in this research is
descriptive research with a qualitative approach. Sources of data in the study
were the supervisors, administrators, and members of the Student Council.
Data collection techniques applied were observation, interviews, and
documentation. Tools of data collection used in this study were observation
guidelines, interview guides, and documentation guidelines. The data validity
test used was the source, technique, and time triangulation techniques. This
study showed that the student council becomes a means of personality
character building. The personality characters formed through student
council are tolerance, care, leadership, and respect.
