Abstract

This study aims to determine the number of ethnic groups in Batu Ampar Village, how ethnic culture can develop the social personality of the people in Batu Ampar Village. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative research method. The subjects of this study were the people in Batu Ampar Village, namely the Head of the Teluk Mastura Hamlet, and the informants in this study were the people of ethnic Malays, Javanese and Madurese. The results of this study indicate that there are twelve ethnic groups in Batu Ampar Village. ethnicity, namely ethnic Malays, Bugis, Chinese, Javanese, Balinese, Madurese, and Dayak, Sundanese, Bugis, Flores, Aceh, Minang, Ethnic culture can develop the social personality of the community by strengthening relations between communities and making people have a sense of tolerance for one another and make people blend in with each other. There are activities that lead to positive things and are entertaining and eat together so that openness and community participation in positive activities can develop the social personality of the community. The community also received well the ethnic cultural activities in Batu Ampar Village, both from the residents and the Head of Teluk Mastura Hamlet and the Village Head. So it can be concluded that, there are activities of ethnic cultural traditions that can develop the social personality of the community in Batu Ampar Village, with an attitude of tolerance and togetherness and help - help in existing activities.
