Abstract

Abstract

This research aims to improve students reading comprehension by using
pictures book. This research design is Library Research. Which are three
point such as in order to make the students easier to improve their reading
comprehension of narrative text through comic strips, To improve students"™
knowledge of comprehension and interest in reading, than To know
how the implementation of pictures-stories on narrative text implementation
the students reading comprehension .To know the students reading
comprehension improvement when Picture- stories is improvement of the
Ninth grade of MTs n 1 Ngemplak. This research was done in five items,
such as the purposes, research method which into three stages; from the
subject, technique, and analyses. And to find the teaching procedure such as
method from the journal, the materials than the next is the research
findings, the last is drawing conclusion. The researcher collected data from
articles journals written by Meiliana and Ryan and Siti Masithoh. The
result showed that the students"™ problems are low to read. Therefore
reading pictures book as the media in teaching learning process,
Furthermore, students"™ reading comprehension by using pictures book in
learning English had also improved according to the article journals. The
students participated well, and showed enthusiasm during teaching and
learning process. As the conclusion, eventhough the step and the
pictures from the three journal were difference but the result of the
three journal were effect to build the students vocabulary better.
