Abstract

The predictor of transition is the control of students in the period before making a choice to
study at SMK Negeri 1 Bunguran Timur, Natuna Regency. The purpose of this study was to
determine the predictors of student transition in choosing SMK Negeri 1 Bunguran Timur,
Natuna Regency. The approach used in this research is qualitative. This research is
focused on Transition Predictors. Data collection techniques were carried out by
interview, observation and documentation. The research results are:1) Predictors of
Student Transition at SMK Negeri 1 Bunguran Timur, Natuna Regency, consist of internal
factors, namely interest, motivation and gender. Meanwhile, external factors consist of the
influence of alumni, friends, policies, work experience, economy, school promotion, and
distance (geography)., 2) Adaptability of Students at SMK Negeri 1 Bunguran Timur,
Natuna Regency, is influenced by the student's social environment and awareness to adapt
in learning according to the majors and areas of expertise they choose. In addition, the
factor of coaching and developing schools that support the available majors and areas of
expertise., 3) Demographic Aspects of Adaptive Student Transition Predictors in Class X
SMK Negeri 1 Bunguran Timur, Natuna Regency, consisting of age, gender, gender status
and the dominant competency/major is male students
