Abstract
Management of the Head of the Education Office is a series of processes carried out to
organize and utilize existing human resources to achieve the planned common goals.
This study aims to determine the management of the Head of the Bengkayang Regency
Office in improving employee discipline. This research method uses qualitative
methods. Sources of data are the Head of Service, Secretary, Head of Subdivision, and
temporary employees. Data collection techniques through observation, interviews,
documentation. Data analysis uses data reduction, data display and verifications. The
technique of checking the validity of the data is by testing credibility, transferability,
dependability and confirmability. The results showed that: 1) planning the duties of the
Head of Service was carried out through the formulation of the vision and mission,
making strategic planning programs, 2) organizing the duties of the Head of Service
was carried out through the formulation of the structure of the Service and optimizing
the parties involved, 3) the implementation of the duties of the Head of Service was
carried out through preparation of work programs, formulation of policies,
cooperation, and developing information systems, and 4) supervision of the duties of the
Head of Service is carried out incidentally, either directly or indirectly, involving
certain parties and cooperation between the Head of Service, Secretary, and Head of
Sub-Division of the Service. The conclusion of this research is that the management of
the Head of Service has been carried out properly in order to improve employee
discipline. The implications of this research can be used as input in improving employee
discipline through the implementation of management functions.
