LEKSIKON NAMA PENGOBATAN TRADISIONAL PADA MASYARAKAT MELAYU DI DESA ELLA HULU KABUPATEN MELAWI

Abstract.

This research focuses on observing language objects, namely the lexicon of disease
names and traditional medicine. The lexicon of disease and traditional medicine meant
is the name of the disease and treatment known and known by the Malay Melawi
community. The data of this study were taken in Ella Hulu Village, Menukung District,
Melawi Regency. In addition, researchers also explain the lexical meaning and
cultural meaning. Therefore, there is a need for documentation both in writing and in
pictures so that the lexicon of disease names and traditional treatments can still be
known even though they are rarely used anymore at this time. The method used in this
research is descriptive, and with a qualitative form. The data source in this study is the
informant who is a native Malay community of Ella Hulu Village. Data in this research
are lexicon of disease name and traditional medicine. The technique used in this
research is capable engaging technique. Data collection tools used in this study are
interview guidelines, tape recorders or other types of recording devices, data cards that
have been provided for grouping or recording the data obtained. Based on the results
of research that has been done, the researchers managed to collect 40 lexicon as
research data. The data was obtained from the interview and recording process
conducted by researchers during conducting research in the village of Ella Hulu. The
data consists of 5 lexicon names for female diseases, 4 lexicon names for male
diseases, 5 lexico n names for children's diseases, and 22 lexons of common diseases
that can be suffered by women and men at the age of children and adults.
