Abstract

Abstract

This study is aimed to determine the perception of parents from farming families in Sempadian Village, on the continuation of their children's education to college. The approach used in this research is a quantitative approach with a descriptive method in the form of survey studies. In this study, the source of population data was 1,039 families with a sample of 91 families who worked as farmers. The data collection technique used in this study uses indirect communication, namely a questionnaire using a Likert scale and a documentary study in the form of photos while conducting research. Data processing in this study using SPSS version 16.0. Based on the results of the research, the general conclusion shows that the perception of parents from farming families on the continuation of their children's education to college is classified as "positive" with an average score of 76.0989 and a percentage of 48.4%. The conclusion of the research specifically shows that: 1) The perception of parents from farming families towards tertiary institutions is classified as "positive" with an average score of 37.5055 and a percentage of 51.6% and 2) the perception of parents from farming families towards the continuation Children's education to college is classified as "positive" with an average score of 38.5934 and a percentage
of 40.7%.
