Abstract

Teachers are people who play a role in distributing knowledge. Being a teacher is required to have academic qualifications in accordance with their field in order to carry out their duties as a teacher. However, based on the problems it was found that there were teachers who did not meet the specified academic qualification standards. This study was conducted to determine the effect of academic qualifications on the performance of Kindergarten teachers in South Pontianak District. The research method used is descriptive with an ex post facto quantitative approach. The data sources of this research are kindergarten teachers in South Pontianak District, with a population of 124 teachers, and the research sample is 45 kindergarten teachers who serve as classroom teachers. The research instrument is using observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the performance of Kindergarten teachers with academic qualifications for non-graduate teachers had a score of 951, non-PAUD undergraduate teachers with a score of 1095, and PAUD undergraduate teachers with a score of 1161. This is evidenced by the results of the Analysis Of Variance test with the One Way Anova type, obtained F_count of 163.748 and F_(table ) of 3.22, because the value of F_count is greater than F_(table ) ( F_count > F_(table )) , so H_0 is rejected and H_a accepted. Then with the Paired t-test, the values in the three comparison groups were obtained, namely the value of t_count greater than t_table (t_count > t_table), so H_0 was rejected and H_a was accepted. So, it can be concluded that there is an influence of academic qualification on the performance of Kindergarten teachers in South Pontianak District.
