PEMBELAJARAN DRUM BAND DI TAMAN KANAK-KANAK ISLAM AL- IKHWAH KOTA PONTIANAK

Abstract

Abstract

The background of this research is the problem that arises in the process of The Learning of
Drum Band at Taman Kanak-Kanak Islam Al-Ikhwah Pontianak City namely: oral
communication, gesture of the body, lined up and balancing. The purpose of this research
were (1) To describe the composition of the drum band"™s equipments at Taman Kanak-Kanak

Islam Al-Ikhwah Pontianak City, (2) To describe the learning of drum band at Taman Kanak-
Kanak Islam Al-Ikhwah Pontianak City. The method of this research was descriptive study

with qualitative method. The data collection was using several techniques such as, observation
technique, interview technique, and documentation study. To measure the validity of the data
were used the extension of the research and the triangulation technique. The result of the
research were (1) The composition of the drum band"™s equipment at Taman Kanak-Kanak
Islam Al-Ikhwah Pontianak City were completed, that thing was measured by the rules of the
Drum Band, (2) The learning of drum band at Taman Kanak-Kanak Islam Al-Ikhwah
Pontianak City were using mirroring system and visual explanation. Therefore, the materials
that have been given to the battery players such as the introduction of the hitting exercise, the
introduction of the instrument (basic techniques and strucking), legato 4 right and 4 left for
the warming up, and for the colorguard (flag) players were given spin and double spin. From
the result of this research, it is recommended to adapt the measurement of Drum Band
instruments based on the posture of the kindergartners. More than that, it is also suggested to
make lined up as the learning program using mirroring technique.
