PEMAHAMAN KONSEPTUAL SISWA DIKAJI DARI REPRESENTASI MATEMATIS DALAM MATERI FUNGSI KUADRAT DI SMA

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pemahaman konseptual siswa yang dikaji dari representasi matematis dalam materi fungsi kuadrat di kelas XI IPA SMA Mujahidin Pontianak. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Sampel penelitian ini adalah 55 siswa. Hasil analisis data dapat dideskripsikan bahwa pemahaman konseptual siswa kelas XI IPA 1 dan XI IPA 2 SMA Mujahidin Pontianak yang terdiri atas siswa kelompok atas, menengah dan bawah tergolong sangat kurang jika dikaji melalui representasi simbol, grafik, verbal dan gambar dalam materi fungsi kuadrat. Pemahaman konseptual siswa kelompok atas dan menengah tergolong baik jika dikaji melalui representasi tabel. Namun dari siswa kelompok bawah, pemahaman konseptual tergolong sangat kurang jika dikaji melalui representasi tabel.

Abstract : The research aimed to describe student conceptual understanding on quadratic function by using mathematical representation in grade XI students of Science Program in Mujahidin Senior High School Pontianak. The research was conducted by using qualitative descriptive. The samples of the research were 55 students. The research finding showed that the student conceptual understanding in grade XI students of Science Program 1 and 2 which was divided into three categories; namely upper group, middle group and lower group was very low seen from symbols, graphics, verbal and pictures representation in quadratic function. The student conceptual understanding in upper group and middle group was good tested by table representation. On the other hand, seen from table representation, the student conceptual understanding in lower group was very poor.
