Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of online learning on the learning motivation of
class VII students in social studies subjects at SMP Negeri 17 Pontianak. The method
used in this study was a quantitative approach in the form of causal research. The
samples in this study were 53 respondents from a total population of 234 students of
class VII A to VII G. The data collection techniques used were indirect communication
techniques and documentary with data collection tools in the form of questionnaires
and documentation. The results of data analysis showed that: 1) The online learning for
class VII students of SMP Negeri 17 Pontianak was well done with a percentage of
84.67%; 2) The students"™ learning motivation has a percentage of 83.55%, categorized
as very good; and 3) Based on the regression analysis, the equation Y'= 4.551 + 0.940X
was obtained. The significance value obtained was 0.000 Ë‚ 0.05. Therefore, H0 was
rejected and Ha was accepted and thus concluded that online learning affects the
motivation of learners in grade VII in social studies subjects in SMP Negeri 17
Pontianak.
