Abstract
This study aims to determine how the application of school-based character education at SMP Islamiyah Pontianak. This research method is a qualitative description. The data collection technique in this research is to use observation, interview, and documentation study techniques. The data collection tools used were interview guides, observation guides, notebooks and archives. The results showed that 1) that character education through routine activities at SMP Islamiyah Pontianak was carried out by students actively. 2) Whereas character education through spontaneous activities at SMP Islamiyah Pontianak through spontaneous activities at SMP Islamiyah, can be seen in the teacher admonishing students who say harsh or impolite words, the teacher admonishes students whose uniforms are not polite, for example too tight / press. 3) Whereas character education through conditioning activities at SMP Islamiyah Pontianak is carried out by providing facilities such as procurement of trash cans so that students are accustomed to throwing garbage in its place, as well as carrying out cleaning activities of the school environment which are held every Saturday. 4) Whereas character education through exemplary activities at SMP Islamiyah Pontianak can be seen from the exemplary examples exemplified by the teacher.
