Abstract

Strategic competence is one of the skills needed to solve mathematical problems
using the right strategy. This study aims to describe the strategic competence of
students in the linear program material story questions in SMA-TBK Kubu Raya.
The method used is descriptive in the form of case research to achieve the goal.
The subjects of this study were students of class XI IPA. The tools used to collect
data were strategic competency test questions and interviews. The results of
strategic competency tests and interviews are analyzed based on three indicators
of strategic competence, namely formulating problems, representing problems,
and solving problems. From the results of the data analysis, it shows that the
strategic competence of students in the linear program material story questions is
categorized as incapable. Of the 35 students who were analyzed the data from the
written test results, there were 10 students whose strategic competence was
categorized as capable while 25 others were categorized as incapable.
