Abstract

This study aims to examine the correlation between Parental Guidance and Learning
Motivation with Student Cognitive Learning Outcomes IV SDN 03 Pontianak City. The
method used in this research is descriptive method with the form of correlation study
research. The population in this study were all fourth grade students at SDN 03
Pontianak City. Return of the sample used in this study using Pourposive sampling with
a sample size of 30 students who are in class IV B SDN 03 Pontianak City. There are
two data collection techniques used in this study, namely, indirect communication
techniques and documentary studies. Indirect communication techniques are used to
collect data on parental guidance and learning motivation with assistive devices, while
documentary study techniques are used to collect data on student learning outcomes for
class IV B SDN 03 Pontianak Kota. The data analysis technique performed by statistical
analysis shows that at an error rate of 5%, the magnitude of the correlation between
parental guidance and learning motivation with students' cognitive learning outcomes
is rcounted for 0.535 with rtable of 0.361. Because rcount > rtable, it can be said that
there is a positive relationship between parental guidance and learning motivation
together with the learning outcomes of students' cognitive aspects.
