Abstract
This study aims to describe the location and description of the location of
students based on a scientific approach that is suitable for use for class V
students at SDN 24 Southeast Pontianak in thematic learning theme 8 learning
1 which includes Indonesian language and science material. The research
method used is research and development (RnD) by adapting the Borg and gall
model by passing 7 stages, namely (1) preliminary study and information
gathering, (2) Planning, (3) Initial Product Development, (4) Product Prototype
design validation, (5) Preliminary Field Testing Product, (6) Main Product
Revision, (7) Main Field Test. The data obtained is a mixture of data, namely
quantitative data and qualitative data obtained from design experts, material
experts, and fifth grade students. The research instrument used was a
questionnaire. Validity level based on experts. Overall design experts obtained
94% with a very decent category, material experts obtained an overall
percentage of 89% with a very decent category and students obtained an
overall percentage of 90.6% with a very good category. Based on the results of
these categories, the product development is categorized as very feasible and
very good.
