Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of internal and external conflicts on the development of characters in the Rintik Tawa novel, and the plan for implementing the effects of conflict on the development of characters in Rosa Amanda Salim's Rintik Tawa novel can be implemented in Indonesian class XII subjects. The method used in this study is a descriptive method with a qualitative research form. The data source used is the novel Rintik Tawa by Rosa Amanda Salim. The data in this study are conflicts that affect the development of the character's character. Based on research that has been found: 1) internal conflict feelings of anger, sadness,disappointment, regret, and guilt. The internal conflict has a positive effect on the character of Jelita, Bima, Edmund doctor, Pratama doctor and negative on the character of Edmund doctor and Bima. 2) external conflict include feelings of betrayal, jealousy, hatred, loyalty, and also feelings of disappointment, and anger caused by the relationship between on character and another. Extenal conflict has an impact positive influence on the character of Jelita, Edmund doctor, Bima, Pratama doctor and a negative influence on the character of Jelita.
