Abstract

Abstract

This research was motivated by the curiosity of research in knowing the process
of processing library materials at the library of the Faculty of Social and
Political Sciences (Fisip) of Tanjunpura University. This type of recearch with
a qualitative approach. Sources of data in this study were the head of the library
and the Fisip library staf totalin 3 people to be interviewed. Data collection
techniques through observation, interviews, dokumentation. Data analysis
techniques in the form of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing
conclusions to obtain the final result. The result of the study indicate that the
processing of library materials has not met the processing prosedures due to the
classification numbering process that uses onesearch compared to DDC. The
processing process starts from copmleteness as well as arranging books on
shelves (selving). Constraints faced by the lack of a sense of respinsibility in
processing and the large number of collections that exceed the number of shelver
in the Fisip library.
