Abstrak
This study aims to determine the circulation service system in the Pontianak State
Polytechnic library and the obstacles faced in circulation services. Librarian The
results of this study indicate that the Pontianak State Polytechnic Library implements
an open circulation service system with a process of borrowing and returning books,
where users can directly enter the collection room and choose the desired library
materials. Then the return of the book must be returned according to the date specified
by the officer at the service department. The circulation service officer will give a fine
according to the length of the return period, in accordance with applicable regulations
in order to improve better service at the Pontianak State Polytechnic Library. The
obstacles in circulation services are the late return of library materials so that
collections that are needed by other users cannot be loaned, as well as the lack of
computer facilities that slow down the process of borrowing and returning books and
slowing down the detection of late users in returning collections
