Synonyms refer to a group of words with basic but slightly different rational meanings. "How many" and "How much" are both synonyms. Both "how many" and "How much" are interrogative pronouns used to ask about quantity. The word "how many" can be used without the quantifier, while the word "ji" must be used with the quantifier. These two words are commonly used in daily life. They have similarities and differences in meaning and usage. Therefore, Chinese learners often misuse these two words early. In order to understand the situation and difficulties of the second-year students of Pontianak Father"™s junior high school on the synonymous words "how many" and "How much", the author uses a test method to test the students. The test results show that students have a better grasp of the synonymous word "how many" than "How much". The correct rate of "How much" reached 68.03% and the correct rate of "how many" reached 64.33%. Analyzing the difficulty, the author finds that the student author finds that some students still don"™t understand the difference between using "how many" and "how much."
