Abstract

This study aims to describe the difficulties of teachers in implementing thematic learning in class V. The research method used is descriptive in the form of qualitative research. The source of the data in this study was obtained from the fifth grade teacher at the 35 South Pontianak State Elementary School. The data in this study were in the form of observation sheets, interviews and documentation. The data analysis technique used is Miles and Huberman. To test the credibility of the data on the results of the study using the persistence technique. The implementation of the research is known to the VA and VB class teachers in carrying out thematic learning not using lesson plans, having different characters, monotonous learning methods and limited media. The difficulty of teachers in implementing thematic learning is that they are not too proficient to provoke learning curiosity and students' enthusiasm. Efforts made by the teacher when delivering learning material there were students who were sleepy and were told to wash their faces first and do a stimulus.
