Abstrak

The traditional marriage of the Sungai Segak Village community is a traditional marriage
procession for the Madurese community of Sungai Segak Village which has a distinctive
meaning and value. The existence of this marriage tradition, the researcher aims to describe
the meaning and value of the Madurese marriage tradition in Sungai Segak Village, Sebangki
District, Landak Regency. This research is a research using a qualitative method with a
descriptive-ethnographic approach. To achieve these objectives, the data collection
techniques used are observation, interviews and documentation. Data collection tools are
observation guidelines, interview guidelines, documentation tools. The data analysis
technique used is data reduction, data presentation, conclusion drawing and verification.
Based on the results of research that has been carried out, the process of implementing the
marriage tradition consists of several stages, namely the first stage of application, consisting
of Ngangene (giving news), Alamar Nyabe'Jajan (proposing), Teket Petton (application tool)
and Nyade' Temo (determining the date of marriage). ). The second stage of the wedding,
which consists of Ngireng Penganten (delivering the bride and groom), Nyareh Anak Elang
(looking for missing children), and Malang Areh (playing seven days). Each of these stages
has a meaningful meaning and value.
