Abstract

Abstract

The study is titled "The Implementation Of A Multicultural Education In
Sosiology at SMA Negeri 1 Meliau". The purpose of this study is the
implementation of a multicultural education in sociology viewed from the
five dimensions of multicultural education. The study uses ethnographic
qualitative research methods by means of observation, in-depth
interviews and documentation. Research indicates that 1) the sociology
teacher carefully implemented the dimensions of content integration by
integrating multicultural content into the sociological learning material
contained in the RPP. 2) sociology teacher carefully implement the
construction dimension of knowledge by helping students bulid
multicultural knowledge through sociological study materials by giving
examples of pictures contained in RPP. 3) sociology teacher carefully
implement the prejudice reduction dimension by developing positive
recognition of different religious groups and cultures in the sociology
process. 4) sociology teacher carefully implement the same and fair
dimensions of education. Justice in prayer; all learners take truns
leading the prayers of both women and men with each trust. Justice in
division of discussion groups; discussion groups are chosen at random,
not by absence or self-choice of. Justice in learning; teacher approach all
discussion groups in shifts and give all learners the same opportunity to
ask questions, answer and respond without discrimination. 5) Sociology
teacher carefully implement thr dimensions of school empowerment and
social structure by applying school culture in learning.
