Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to determine how the characteristics of the visual, auditory, and
kinesthetic learning styles of students of the Sociology Education Study Program, FKIP
UNTAN. The method used by the researcher is a descriptive research method using a
qualitative approach. Data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, and
documentation. Data analysis techniques used are data collection, data reduction, data
presentation, and drawing conclusions/verification. Testing the validity of the data,
namely the extension of observations, increasing persistence, and triangulation. The
results of this study indicate that the students of the Sociology Education Study
Program, FKIP UNTAN, have shown the characteristics of their respective learning
styles according to their abilities and habits that are often applied during and outside
of learning. There are students of the Sociology Education Study Program, FKIP
UNTAN, who dominantly have visual learning style characteristics by relying more on
sensory vision (eyes), namely by seeing, observing, and the like. There are also students
who have dominant auditory learning style characteristics by relying more on sensory
hearing (ears), namely by listening. And there are also students who have dominant
kinesthetic learning style characteristics by relying more on sensory physical
movement, touch, work and the like.
