Abstract
This study aims to describe the teacher's role as a facilitator in using the blended learning
model during the COVID-19 pandemic in class IV of the 03 State Elementary School,
Pontianak City. The research method used is descriptive in the form of qualitative research.
The source of the data for this research is the fourth grade teacher at the State Elementary
School 03 Pontianak City and the data is the result of interviews and observations with the
fourth grade teacher. Data collection techniques in this study are non-participatory
observation techniques, semi-structured interview techniques, and documentation. The
researcher collecting data in this study was himself as the main instrument using
observation guidelines, interview guidelines, and documentation. Based on the data from
observations and interviews, the teacher's role as a facilitator in online and offline learning
has been carried out, although it is not the eleventh role of the teacher. Because in its
implementation there are several obstacles such as poor internet connection in certain
areas, the factor of lack of insight of teachers about the theory of teachers as facilitators,
the lack of school facilities, the factor of old habits in teaching too strong, and the factor
of the lack of teachers conducting comparative studies in schools. Who are considered have
succeeded in carrying out the teacher's role as a facilitator.
