TINDAK TUTUR DALAM NOVEL PARADIGMA KARYA SYAHID MUHAMMAD

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to describe the form and meaning of locutionary,
illocutionary, and perlocutionary acts used in Paradigma a novel by Syahid
Muhammad. This research is descriptive in the form of qualitative research
and it uses locutionary, illocutionary, and perlocutionary acts in the novel as
the data. The data were collected by documentary study technique. The result
of this study shows that there are 10 locutionary acts, 23 assertive
illocutionary acts of advising, 2 assertive illocutionary acts of suggesting, 4
assertive illocutionary acts of stating, 1 expressive illocutionary acts of
thanking, 14 expressive illocutionary acts of apologizing, 2 expressive
illocutionary acts of blaming, 3 expressive illocutionary acts of praising, 1
commissive illocutionary acts of offering something and 2 directive
perlocutionary acts of commanding. In addition, this research can also be
used as teaching material in the 2013 curriculum of Indonesian language
learning, for the second semester of senior high school class XII with 39 Basic
Competencies to analyze the content and language of the novel.
