Abstract
The government's policy regarding online learning is to reduce the spread of
Covid-19, but this policy can affect student interest in learning due to changes
in learning conditions from face-to-face to offline/online. This research was
conducted at SMA Negeri 2 Sungai Raya by interviewing 7 students based on
the recommendations given by teachers in XI IPS and XI IPS geography
teachers at SMA Negeri 2 Sungai Raya. The data analysis technique used is the
Miles and Huberman model analysis, with 3 steps of data analysis, namely data
reduction, data presentation and conclusion. The results of this study indicate
that students still feel happy and want to take part in online geography learning
because the learning carried out is quite flexible and relaxed and the tasks
given by the teacher are not many. Students are also diligent in doing
assignments and attending geography lessons. Basically, students still have an
interest in learning geography online. However, based on the four indicators of
interest in learning, it is not good overall because of the lack of student
involvement in learning geography and, there are obstacles that are felt by most
students in understanding the material provided online through Google
Classroom.
